Last month’s musically inspired Kinkonauts show week was a preview of a spring that will be blooming with plenty of improv and music. Calgary’s improv community is buzzing with activity this month! So get out of hibernation and go check out a show or maybe even take a class.

Calgary Improv School’s next set of classes start this Sunday with Improv Supernova: Improv Supernova: When Short Form and Long Form Collide. Taught by Notorious’ Lil’ Payne, Mat Mailandt this unique course examines how you can use long and short form techniques to create some improvisational magic.

Also starting this month, on March 19, Nicole Zylstra from Dirty Laundry and the Kinkonauts will teach Level C: Advanced Character & Scenework. This intermediate level course follows Level A & B, or is perfect for anyone with some prior experience with improv or acting. Come explore longform!

Kinkonauts Show Week: Beauty, Love, Truth

The Kinkonauts are back with another inspired and engaging show week concept. It all begins with myth-stifying performance from STU on Wednesday night featuring experimental formats from the Kinkonauts. On Thursday, Obviously Improv takes over the Birds & Stone Theatre with their fast-paced and energetic brand of improv. Friday and Saturday, check out Beauty Love Truth featuring a special guest all the way from New York City, Shannon Manning, and musical guest, Alexa Borden. Plus, don’t miss performances from the Adventure, CUB, Fatale, Mixtape and Happy Endings Comedy.

Fresh Notes: A Festival of Musical Comedy

Notorious is hosting Calgary’s first Music Comedy festival! Obviously Improv Presents – The Improv Games: Catching Funds
